Too often, new university and college graduates blindly apply to all sorts of different jobs in a whole wide range of fields just in order to get any decent job that will start providing a paycheck. This type of job hunting approach for a career will often backfire on graduates during job interviews because it will show that minimal research on specific industries and careers were done.
This makes the candidates come across as ignorant compared to others who clearly have done their research into the specific industries and fields they are interviewing for.
