I took another one of my favorite stories from my pharmaceutical sales representatives journal and presented it as a Toastmaster speech last night. This was one about an old drug I use to promote called Cytotec. One of the nasty side effects of Cytotec was diarhea and some of the audience considered this to be a bit too graphic. So maybe I should switch over to another pharmaceutical sales story involving a different product with a less messy side effect. I’ve learned from this experience that non-health care people may not find graphic side effects too appealing in a speech. So I just might keep the Cytotec story just for specialized health care related audiences such as nurses, physiotherapists and pharmaceutical sales representatives.
