One question I got this week was whether the differences in the medical systems of Canada and the US will have any impact on the information I teach for aspiring drug representatives. The answer is no. The job of a drug representative is still to influence doctors to prescribe their products. It doesn’t matter how patients get or pay for medical services as it doesn’t change the drug representative’s job or the way newcomers can break into pharmaceutical sales.
