Many people with clinical backgrounds like nurses and pharmacists have good chances of starting new careers as drug representatives. However, some of these folks make the mistake of putting too much emphasis on their clinical background in their resumes.
Just the fact that you have training and working experience as a clinician is adequate enough and there’s no need to have 75% of your resume’s content on clinical related text. This will not convince sales managers to hire you as a drug rep.
Instead, change the focus to communication skills to show pharmaceutical sales managers that you are different from the average clinician because your superior communication skills makes you a top candidate to be a drug representative.
