Medical Sales Jobs Website On Apple Mac

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

So far, our Medical Sales jobs website has been managed on our new Apple Mac for over a month now and we hope things look okay.  We are able to make updates rapidly now but now totally sure how the website looks on various monitors with Internet Explorer on Windows.  The only time I’m able to see our website through Internet Explorer on Windows is the occasional visit at the local library.  Apple Mac uses a different operating system which we love right now but we are aware that only a small percentage of the market is on it.  Our Medical Sales jobs website looks great on the Mac Safari operating system as well as Firefox.

Drug Representatives Careers CD

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

One customer based in South Africa took advantage of our Drug Representatives careers CD upgrade offer.  This individual probably doesn’t have access to high speed internet which makes it difficult to download the audio files or maybe just wants a CD made so that our drug representatives careers audio program can be listened in the car.  This CD upgrade offer is made only to those who have ordered the Downloadable Audio Package.  The CD contains both the audio files as well as the ebook version of Clint Cora’s “How To Get A Dream Job In Pharmaceutical Sales – Direct Inside Advice and Guidance From a Sales Manager” book.

One person asked in a forum on who from the industry can give him a resume critique.  Well, it turns out that I as a former national sales manager who offers a free custom evaluation of your resume as part of a bonus in any of our book or audio packages.  This is especially useful for those breaking into pharmaceutical sales since it is a rare opportunity to get honest feedback from somebody who has hired drug reps before.

Medical Sales Reps During the Summers

Friday, July 25th, 2008

I can sort of tell that many people went on vacation during the early part of July since traffic to our medical sales website decreased a bit early this month but this level appears to be bouncing back this week. If you are back from holidays, this is the still a slower time of the year for the pharmaceutical industry as many medical sales reps are away as well as doctors. But this is also an ideal time to learn about the industry if you are serious in breaking into medical sales especially since networking might be easier in a way since things are slightly less busy out there.

Do Drug Reps Do Better Playing Golf With Doctors?

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

A question was posted on a forum asking whether drug reps do better if they play golf with doctors.  My response was that pharmaceutical sales is a people business and like many other fields, it is important to develop long term business relationships with customers.  Any form of smoozing will help in this and the most successful drug reps do tend to do some form of social activities with their top customers.

It doesn’t have to be golf as I never did when I was a drug rep.  But I did take doctors to restaurants, hockey games, football games and when I was a sales manager, I even helped organize outings with my reps and their customers to top tennis matches.

Cheaper To Spend Money On Drug Rep Books Rather Than Resume Writer

Monday, July 21st, 2008

Hiring a resume writer can cost hundreds and it won’t turn your skills into something that appears marketable for a sales manager in the pharmaceutical industry.  You still won’t learn how to network or excel in interviews.  It’s much better to spend a fraction of this cost in a few well written drug rep books which will teach you everything from resumes to interviews to networking.

I Sold Drugs – As A Drug Rep Of Course

Friday, July 18th, 2008

There’s a good chance that I’m going to pull out my “I Sold Drugs” speech at our Toastmasters club meeting tomorrow.  We might not have enough speakers so I might jump in with one of several speeches that I can do without much preparation.  This “I Sold Drugs” speech is about one of my most memorable sales calls as a new drug rep when I first started out in the pharmaceutical sales industry many years ago.
