Changes to Pharma Sales Book Website for Clickbank Affiliates

Monday, March 26th, 2007

There have been some changes to the website pages for the pharma sales book written by Clint Cora. This will enhance the use for Clickbank affiliates. Previously, there were two separate sets of landing pages, one for referrals sent by Clickbank affiliates and one for direct visitors. These two separate sets were creating some confusion among affiliates so we have decided to delete one set of pages and use our main landing page for both direct visitors and those sent by Clickbank affiliates

As Clickbank affiliates will see, the pages have been modified so that commissions from sales resulting from referrals will be ensured. This includes sales on both the pharma sales ebook as well as the audio program. For more information, see Clickbank Affiliate Information.

Did Another Toastmasters Speech Like a Pharma Sales Executive

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

I did another speech at one of the local Toastmasters clubs last night and this one was probably the closest to the way I made presentations when I was a pharma sales executive (sales manager and product manager). Although the main topic was osteoporosis, this particular version was twice as long in length and I used Powerpoint slides like I use to do in the pharma sales industry. There was a nice audience of about 20 people who were all appreciative of the information I presented. Many were also guests in addition to regular Toastmasters members as they came especially to hear about osteoporosis. The question and answer period at the end also indicated that this topic was of major interest to many members of the audience since osteoporosis can affect everyone eventually.

During the introduction of me as a speaker, my previous positions in the pharma sales industry were mentioned including pharma rep, sales trainer, product manager and national sales manager. Numerous names of top medical experts I’ve worked with in the past on various osteoporosis-related projects were also mentioned. They also gave a brief mention of my book, “How To Get A Dream Job In Pharmaceutical Sales – Direct Inside Advice and Guidance from a Sales Manager“.

How Drug Reps Can Become Respectable

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007

Throughout my entire pharmaceutical career as a drug rep as well as a manager, I’ve observed how some drug reps have been regarded by medical professionals as respectable while other drug reps were treated as if they were just annoying sales people.

The main thing that separates those drug reps that doctors, pharmacists and nurses respect from all the others is the knowledge the seasoned sales pros are able to communicate. The super drug reps know their stuff inside out including the pharmacology of their products, the medical aspects and the clinical studies that involve the therapeutic areas of interest.

Contact Info For Medical Sales Representative Website Has Not Changed

Tuesday, March 20th, 2007

As some of you may have noticed, the contact info for the medical sales representative website at www.GetPharmaceuticalSalesJob.com looks a bit different. Rather than a link to the e-mail address, a contact form is now being used. This is simply to reduce the number of e-mail harvesters that spam. Contacting Clint Cora through the medical sales representative website is just as easy as before by using this form now.

Pharmaceutical Sales Resumes Turned Around Within 24 Hours

Sunday, March 18th, 2007

As most of you know, one of the bonus features of either my ebook or audio book “How To Get A Dream Job In Pharmaceutical Sales – Direct Inside Advice and Guidance from a Sales Manager”, is the custom evaluation of your resume. Since I was an actual hiring sales manager of pharmaceutical representatives, I am certainly in a good position to evaluate pharmaceutical sales resumes.

Currently, the turn around time for evaluating such resumes is pretty good. I can usually have your resume with my comments for improvement sent back to you via e-mail within 24 hours.

One thing I do suggest first is for everyone to read the chapters on resumes, then try to incorporate the concepts into first drafts before sending them to me for evaluation since this is a one time service only.

For more information on this valuable bonus with pharmaceutical sales resumes as well as the ebook and audio book, see Pharmaceutical Sales Jobs.

If You Get Nervous During Pharmaceutical Sales Interviews

Thursday, March 8th, 2007

One thing that is always unfortunate to see during pharmaceutical sales interviews with candidates is just how nervous many of them are. Although being nervous is very common among many job seekers during any job interview situation, it is a definite liability when interviewing for pharmaceutical sales positions or any type of sales job for that matter.

As a former hiring sales manager in the pharmaceutical industry, I along with my other sales manager colleagues used interviews to predict whether candidates would be able to do the sales job in a real customer situation. The interviews would be the best device we have to assess a candidate’s suitability for a sales position.

If a candidate is nervous in front of us, many sales managers unfortunately would think that the person being interviewed would also be nervous in front of actual customers. As sales managers, we want confident individuals in our sales forces, not those who would be anxious during sales calls with our customers. Nervous candidates would probably not progress much past first interviews.

To learn what you can do about nervousness during interviews, read the rest of this article at Pharmaceutical Sales Interviews.

Public Speaking Training at Toastmasters to Prepare for Pharmaceutical Sales Careers

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

Can the public speaking training at Toastmasters help prepare individuals for sales careers? As a former national sales manager in the pharmaceutical industry and having been exposed to the Toastmasters program as a member (Singled Out Toastmasters), my opinion would be yes.

Many individuals who want to pursue pharmaceutical sales or other sales careers have no prior experience in selling. This lack of experience often results in applicants not reaching even the interview stage with companies as many sales managers and recruiters do not bother with people who haven’t been in sales before. However, this isn’t always the case.

Many successful pharmaceutical sales representatives had zero sales experience before getting their first jobs in this field. I know representatives who came from past non-sales careers such as journalism, lab work and nursing. Some even came right out of college or university. What they all had in common were excellent communications skills which made up for the lack of actual sales backgrounds.

If someone has above average communications skills and the right aptitude for a sales career, he or she can be successfully trained in selling techniques by companies. Most companies with sales forces will have sales training departments internally or access to good professional training programs externally no matter what industry they are in.

In order to successfully compete with others who already have some sales experience, one must beef up his or her communications skills, especially with oral presentations in front of people. After all, sales jobs involve this type of activity whether to one customer at a time or to an entire group. This is where Toastmasters can step in to help.

Toastmasters Article for Pharmaceutical Sales Reps Out Soon

Monday, March 5th, 2007

Since I have mentioned Toastmasters before in posts and also in my book ‘How To Get A Dream Job In Pharmaceutical Sales – Direct Inside Advice and Guidance from a Sales Manager’, I am going to write a separate article just describing how Toastmasters can be helpful to anyone trying to get into pharmaceutical sales (or any other first time sales position). I’ll work on it this week and announce it when it is ready.
